A tour of the house

Browse through the photos below to see what An Sìthean has to offer.

An Sìthean (pronounced An She-an) is built on the site of a traditional cottage that was occupied until the mid 1900s, before falling into disrepair. Its name was “Taigh an t’Sìthean” which means “House on the hill of the little people”. Today’s An Sìthean is a complete new build in the style of a traditional black top with the archetypal thick sloped walls and rounded roof.
The front door opens into a porch with plenty of space for coats and walking boots. This opens to a large hall granting access to the rest of the house.

An Sìthean incorporates a spacious living room with wood burning stove and uninterrupted views across the island. There are plenty of comfortable chairs for your whole party to relax in. There is a good selection of books, puzzles, and DVDs for the occasional rainy day. The entertainment system is equipped with Blu-ray player and Youview catch-up box. Sliding doors open on to wooden decking that stretches the length of the house, perfect for enjoying views of the sun setting over Tiree.

+++

An Sìthean’s kitchen diner is spacious and light, and features a solid wood dining table that can seat up to 8 people. The kitchen area is modern and well equipped, containing a large fridge freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans to enable you to prepare food with ease.

+++

The spacious and sunny master bedroom with king size bed comes with a large en-suite bathroom with mixer shower over a bath, plenty of wardrobe space, and sliding doors that open out onto the wooden decking area. Wake up in the morning to uninterrupted views of Tiree, and watch the birds, hares and livestock.

+++

An Sìthean features two upstairs twin / superking rooms with dual aspect views. Both rooms are well lit and comfortable, equipped with chest of drawers and built in wardrobe. There is easy access to a shower room situated between the bedrooms; a second shower room can be found just at the bottom of the stairs for peak bathroom usage times. The beds in both rooms can be converted from twin to super king size on request. There is a hairdryer in each bedroom.
